Sergio De Gouveia playing flamenco guitar live
Flamenco · Miami & South Florida

Flamenco for the ceremony. Rumba for the cocktail hour.

The sound of the south of Spain, played live at conversational volume, by the artist who also runs your evening.

In short. Flamenco and rumba flamenca on nylon-string guitar, played live by Sergio De Gouveia at weddings across Miami and South Florida. Ideal for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and for couples with Spanish, Latin or Mediterranean roots who want the sound without a full show. Solo guitar starts at $500.

Flamenco at a wedding

The rhythm of the south of Spain, at the volume of a conversation.

Flamenco at a wedding is not a stage show. It is rumba flamenca for the arrival, a slower soleá or a classical Spanish piece for the processional, and the pulse of the palmas and the rasgueado when the cocktail hour needs lifting. Sergio has played rumba flamenca across South Florida for over eight years, alongside classical Spanish guitar, bossa nova and Latin.

For couples with family from Spain, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil or the Mediterranean, it is the sound that makes the older generation look up. For everyone else, it is simply what a Miami wedding sounds like when it is done well.

Questions people ask

Before you check your date.

Is flamenco too intense for a ceremony?

Not the way it is played here. Ceremonies get the slower, lyrical side of the repertoire: classical Spanish pieces and gentle rumbas. The percussive, high-energy playing is saved for the cocktail hour and the party.

Can you play modern songs in a flamenco style?

Yes. Spanish-guitar arrangements of the songs your guests know are part of every set, from Latin pop to American standards.

Do you perform in Spanish?

Yes. Sergio performs and MCs in English and Spanish, with songs in Portuguese, French and Italian.

Where do you perform flamenco weddings?

Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, from Key West to Jupiter. See the venues Sergio has performed at.
